What if you make some art just for yourself?
Last week during a coaching call, one of my composers said this:
“I’ve been making the music I think people want… but I’ve started to forget what I actually love.”
That’s a tough pill to swallow – but it's so common among artists these days.
We're losing track of what excites us.
We obsess over making "pro level" art.
We either share nothing or everything.
And eventually, we lose touch with ourselves.
But I've been noticing something.
When artists reconnect with the reason they began in the first place – their core ignition point – their energy returns almost instantly.
It doesn’t take a project from a dream client.
It doesn’t take a detailed tactical strategy.
It takes an honest, inward reflection.
This is the inner work I did for myself which led to the creation of my brand-new album, The Call of Raven's Hollow – now available on all streaming services. 🎶

So here’s what I’d invite you to try this week:
💡 Make one piece of art this week that’s just for you.
Not for the algorithm.
Not for your portfolio.
And not to prove anything to anyone.
Just to feel that spark again.
Then, after you’ve made it, ask yourself:
How can I make more art from that place?
That's what we're all about in Composing in Realtime: helping music-makers tap into that sense of creativity and play again so they can love what they make enough to share it with ease.
